Chand Youth Club clinches title

JANAKPUR, December 24:
Chand Youth Club clinched the title of the first ever edition of Janakpur Super Six Cricket Tournament here at JCF Cricket Ground on Saturday.

In the final match played between Array International Academy and Chand Youth Club,  Chand defeated Array by 3 wickets. Winning the toss, Array International opted to bat first and made a score of 48 runs in lost of all 6 wickets in 4.3 overs of the 8 overs game. Gulshan, Bipin, Abhinandan and Santosh grabbed each wicket for Chand Youth Club while 2 were run outs.

In reply, Chand chased the target easily in 3.5 overs with losing 3 wickets. Gulshan added 10 runs on board. Nagendra, Surendra  contributed 5 runs and 4 runs respectively. Man of the match Abhinandan Thakur(plus 1 wkt) made 15 runs being not out.

Janakpur Super Six Cricket Tournament featured 43 teams. Out of the four games played Abhinandan Thakur made 99 runs and grabbed 6 wickets to grab the man of the series award. He was awarded with cricket bat and trophy.

Similarly, Anil Kumar Mandal was awarded the best batsman while the same man Abhinandan Thakur was awarded as the best bowler. Both Mandal and Thakur received the trophy and cricket bat worth Rs. 10000. Subash Kafle from NARCONON Nepal personally awarded Abhinandan Thakur with cash prize of Rs. 5000.

In prize ceremony, the president from NARCONON Nepal, Basanta Kunwar awarded the winners with cash prize of Rs. 7000 and trophy. Similarly, runners up were awarded with cash prize of Rs. 4000 and trophy.

Janakpur Super Six Cricket Tournament was a 8 day event where 43 teams from different schools, clubs and socities participated. The event was organized in collaboration with NARCONON Nepal with the slogan “Our wicket against narcotics”. The organizers committed to come up with similar kind of tournaments in near future.
