Chandra and Rahul to miss ACC Trophy Elite

Nepal key spinner Rahul Kumar Vishwakarma and the pace bowler Chandra Sawad will miss the upcoming edition of the ACC Trohpy Elite Cup due to injury states the Nagariknews reporter Binod Pandey.

Rahul had got the problem with his back during the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup in Australia. While, Sawad had a shoulder injury during practice of the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 tournament. Karki and Sawad both have pulled out their name from the list.

These two players couldn’t play any of the Division 4 matches due to injuries. Sawad has been said to take rest for two months while Karki is said to be fit within some three weeks.

With the two players pulling out their name, Bhuwan Karki and Binod Bhandari have the high chance of being included in the 14 member squad, says source. Krishna Karki, Avinash Karn are the other players in the reserve list. While, Karn has not been the part of the training since he is not well.

Nepal national team haven’t been able to practice due to rain and are limited to the Gym session. Nepal coach Pubudu Dassanayake however has prepared the routine to leave to Sri Lanka for preparation a week earlier than the event and then head to UAE for the ACC Trophy Elite 2012, that is to be held from October 3-12. However, it has been not fixed, says Dassanayake.
