CN/Kathmandu

The Cricket Team which was on the first formal tour of India returned home after playing 7 T20 practice matches in Delhi.

Nepali Team won six of those matches and lost only one, the one being the first match itself against DDCA. Nepali Team was in India for last 10 days preparing specially for the ICC World T20 Qualifiers in UAE.

The tour which was supposedly prolonged was suddenly cut short as team returned back. The High Performance Program has fielding coaching on the preparation menu next, however CAN has put no foot forward for hiring a fielding coach. Uncertainly looms over how team will spend the next few days.

During the Delhi Tour Nepali Team made experiments with openers and fast bowlers to groom team tactics. Sagar Pun and Subash opened for Nepal only to fail in all 5 matches. One of Nepal’s most successful batsmen in T20 Pradeep Airee played only two matches in the opening slot.Fast bowlers Jitendra and Avinash were both bowled around Amrit Bhattarai. Rahul Viswakarma, Anil Mandal and Mahesh Chhetri played only one match that too against weak Gaziabad team.

Nepal is scheduled to depart for the UAE on 9th November for the tournaments that starts on 15th November. Nepal will play two practice matches one each against USA and UAE before they take on Denmark in their first match.
