JANAKPUR:
Dasharath Chand Higher Secondary School of Region-VI (Baitadi) and Apex School of Region-IV (Bhairahawa) recorded wins in the Wai-Wai Under-16 Girls Inter-school National Cricket Tournament here today.
Dasharath defeated Lotus Academy of Region-II (Birgunj) by 30 runs, while Apex overwhelmed Tribhuvan Adarsha Higher Secondary School of Region-III (Kathmandu) by 151 runs.
Electing to bat first, Dasharath scored 119-4 in 20 overs with Puja Bhatta contributing 31 runs. Subhadra Adhikari, Puja Giri, Rojina Aryal picked one wicket apiece for Lotus. Also, Draupati Kunwar added 18 and Manju Bogati scored 15.
In reply, Lotus could only muster 89-9. Preeti Thapa top scored for the Birgunj-based school with 10. Chetana Bohora picked up two wickets, while player-of-the-match Anjali and Malati Chand snared one each.
In another match, Apex scored a mammoth 188-4 and bowled out Tribhuvan Adarsha for 37 in 13.1 overs. Nita Bhandari top scored for Apex with 33 and Pratikshya Basyal made 29. Ashmina Karmacharya picked up two wickets for Tribhuvan Adarsha. In reply, no Tribhuvan Adarsha players could score in double figures. Shudha Thapa took 5-4 for Apex.
