Dassanayake’s team loses

KATHMANDu, January 28:

Indian Embassy defeated Cricket Association of Nepal(CAN) Secretary XI by 4 runs in a friendly T20 match played at TU Ground today.

Winning the toss, Anshuman Gaur, the skipper from Embassy put in the team to bat first. Ranjeet Singh top scored 21 runs with remaining not out. Ranjan Pratap Singh made 20 runs. Sohan Patwal added 16 while Bishwonath Sudhakar and Bikash Kunwar scored 7 runs each. D.K singh made 6 runs. Sandeep Sharma contributed 5 runs. Rahul Sankyan scored 2 while Anshuman Gaur and Dushyant Kumar made 1 runs each.

With 45 extras conceded, Indian Embassy made a total of 132 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. For CAN Secretary XI, Maheshwor Shrestha and Sriniwas Rana grabbed 2 wickets each while Raju Khadka, Kiran Rana and Sunil Amatya shared a wicket each. National coach Pubudu Dassanayake bowled 2.5 overs conceding 9 runs.

3 wickets from Sohan Patwal, 2 wickets each from D.K Singh and Ranjeet Singh and a wicket from Sandeep Sharma restricted CAN Secretary XI to 128 runs in loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Dassanayake’s top scorz 56 runs off 43 deliveries including 8 fours was not enough for the victory as other batsman did not perform well. Kiran Rana made 27 runs off 27 balls including 4 fours. Uttam Karmacharya made 11 runs, Amit Jung Pandey remained not out at 12 runs. Maheshwor Shrestha made 3, Arun Aryal made 2 while Raju Khadka and Raman Siwakoti each scored 1 run. Two batsman Sunil Amatya and Dhirendra Saud were made out with no score.
