Defending Champion SBI registers victory

Defending Champion Nepal SBI Bank, General Secretary XI, Bank of Asia, Prime life Insurance, Embassy of Pakistan, Embassy of India, Micromax, Nepal FM and Kantipur Media Group registered the first win in the opening day of 13th Soaltee Crowne Plaza Super Sixes Corporate Cricket Tournament at TU Ground on Sunday.

General Secretary XI defeated Corporate and Media Team by eight runs in an opening match. Batting first Corporate and Media Team madea good total of 55 runs without losing a wicket in alloted five overs with a score of 22 runs from Rameshwor Shah off 19 balls. In repmy, General Secretary XI reached 63/2 in allotted five overs. Secretary at Home Ministry Sushil J B Rana scored 26 not out for General Secretary XI.

In dramatic match between KIST Bank and SBI Bank, the game tied with SBI being awarded with the win on the basis of extra runs conceded. SBI score 68/0 in 5 overs after batting first. Monish Kumar Shrestha contributed 34 off 14 balls while Anand Upadhyay added 22 off 14 balls. For KIST, Manjay Pandey scored 32 off 17 balls while Raju KC scored 30 off 13 balls.

Bank of Asia made two of two by defeating Citizen’s Bank International and Nabil Bank respectively. BOA beat Citizen’s Bank International by 6 wickets. Citizens scored 53/5 opting to bat first with the help of 25 runs from Sharad Pokharel off 12 balls. The match hero Diwesh Dangol turned the match into BOA’s favor in 3.4 overs, after he grabbed three wickets in an over and contributed 32 runs off 12 balls.
In the second match, Bank of Asia defeated Nabil Bank by three runs. It scored 62/2 with Santosh Rathi´s 35 off 15 balls. In reply, Nabil Bank could only manage 59/3. Amit Pokhrel scored 30 off 15 balls.

Likewise, Prime life Insurance, Embassy of Pakistan and Embassy of India registered victory in the opening day. Prime Life(67/2) beat Bottlers Nepal(44) by 23 runs. Sundar Adhikari was the highest scorer for Prime Life with 26 runs off 14 balls.
In an another match, Embassy of Pakistan registered one run victory over Nepal Bank. Batting first, Embassy of Pakistan scored 65/2. Imtiaz Hussain Raja scored 27 runs off 10 balls. Munir Ahmed´s three wickets restricted Nepal Bank on 64.
In another match, Embassy of India registered nine-run victory over Sanima Bikash Bank. Embassy of India scored 62/3 with Bikash Kumar making 24 runs off nine balls. In reply, Sanima Bank could only manage 53/4 despite Sajan Shrestha´s 37 runs.

Similarly, Micromax, Nepal FM and Kantipur Media Group also registered win on Sunday.

Micromax(57/4) registered six wickets victory over International Development Bank(56/3). Samir Thakur scored 21 off seven balls for IDB. Sanjay Maharjan scored 33 runs off 14 balls for Micromax.

Nepal FM defeated NMB Bank by four wickets. NMB scored 78/2 riding on Mohan KC´s 34 off 13 balls and Rabindra Chand´s 27 off 11 balls. Nepal FM reached the target in 4.3 overs. Niraj Basnet scored 28 runs while Nirmal Simangaida scored 20 runs.

In the last match Kantipur Media Group registered five wickets victory over NIC Bank. Batting first, NIC scored 62/2 as Ravi Shrestha scored 23 runs off 11 balls. KMG successfully reached the target in 4.4 over losing a wicket. Pravin Kumar Karn scored 32 runs off 16 balls.
