Dipendra, Saurav drives Nepal U19 to a fine win

Kathmandu- A 130 runs partnership from Dipendra Airee and Saurav Khanal drove Nepal U19 to a resounding 83 runs win over Kuwait U19 in the ACC U19 Premier League 2015 in the 4th match played at Kinrara Oval, Kuala lampur, Malaysia on Tuesday.

Nepal U19 were reduced to 66/6 in the 14th over after Nepali openers and middle order batsman failed to cope with Kuwait’s bowling. Nepal’s lower order batsman, Dipendra Airee and Saurav Khanal, both known for their explosive batting, sensibly carried Nepal’s batting to put on 130 runs for the seventh wicket in 27 overs.

Dipendra scored 85 runs in 91 balls with nine fours and two sixes and was the seventh wicket to fall. Saurav carried on before being out in the fifth ball of last over to help Nepal U19 respectable total of 250/8 in 50 overs. He scored 73 runs of 115 balls that included five fours and a six.

Prem Tamang and Saurav shared 48 runs for the eighth wicket. In the meantime, Prem blasted 23 runs remaining not out.
Earlier, Sharukh Quddus and Mohammad Fouzi put Nepal U19 in danger taking quick wickets in the first 14 overs with the former taking 2 wickets and the latter grabbing 3 wickets.
Sunil Dhamala 11, Aashish Dhami 4, Shankar Rana 8, Aarif Sheikh 0 and Raju Rijal 15, all failed to score good runs for the team.

Defending 251 runs, Nepal U19 restricted Kuwait U19 for 167/9 in 50 overs. Prem Tamang and Sushil kandel picked two wickets each for Nepal U19. Sushil finished with another outstanding spell conceding just 16 runs in 10 overs with 2 maidens taking two wickets. Nepal U19 made three run outs.

Nepal U19 takes Saudi Arab U19 in the last match of the competition on September 3.
