Dipendra Singh Airee contributes a sluggish 25 in his team’s victory

Dipendra Singh Airee’s team, Montreal Tigers, have registered a nail-biting win against Vancouver Knights to secure a spot in the final of the third edition of Global T20 League Canada.

Montreal Tigers were victorious by one wicket with three balls remaining in the second qualifier, thanks to Sherfane Rutherford’s three sixes in the first three balls of the last over.

Chasing a target of 138 runs, Airee came to the crease at the tricky situation of 29/4 in the fifth over. He cemented a 43-run partnership with Rutherford before being knocked over by Bosch in the 13th over. He scored 25 runs from 28 balls with a couple of boundaries.

Rutherford was batting at 30 from 31 balls when 15 runs were needed from the last over. He smacked three sixes against Rayyan Pathan to win it for Tigers.

Airee didn’t got to bowl as captain Chris Lynn used just four bowlers. However, he took one good catch to dismiss Fabian Allen.

Airee’s Tigers will face Sandeep Lamichhane’s Surrey Jaguars in the final of the tournament on August 6.

Airee’s performance:

vs Jaguars – 28
vs Vancouver – 22* and one wicket
vs Wolves – 28
