Five wickets haul from Bibek seals win for Bhairahawa

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Region Number 4 Bhairahawa registered an interesting victory of 47 runs in a low scoring match against Region Number 2 Birgunj at Rangashala Ground, Pokhara on Friday.

Bhairahawa who chose to bat first scored a total of 110 runs in 31.2 overs losing all of their wickets. After having a terrible start losing three of their wickets in early overs at team score of 17 runs, Bijay Sunar and Ganesh Gaudel played important role in Bhairahawa’s innings with the fourth wicket partnership of 83 runs.

Birgunj turned the partnership down as Sunar and Gaudel were both sent back to pavillion in 27th over. Sunnar and Gaudel were caught for 37 and 30 runs respectively. Sunar hit five fours during his 92 balls innings while Gaudel’s 49 balls innings also included five boundaries. Bhairahawa lost three of their wickets at the team’s total of 100. Sunar and Gaudel were the only bastman to score a double digit as all the other batsman went out cheaply. Four of their batsman had the score of null while 22 runs was awarded as extras.

Avinash Karn, Irshad Ahamed and Aarif Shekh claimed three wickets each while Ram Naresh Giri took one for Birgunj.

In reply, Birgunj couldn’t make enough runs and were bundled for just 63 runs. Birgunj lost their first wicket in the very second over at the score of 1. Birgunj kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Sagar Gupta at the score of 10 was the highest scorer for the team.

Man of the match, Bibek Chaudhary completed five wickets haul maintaining the figure of 10-2-19-5 while Susan Bhari took two wickets. Devendra Somare, Man Bahadur Thapa, Eklakh Ahmed had a scalp each.

Bhairahawa will now take on Region Number 7 Janakpur on Saturday.
