Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Galaxy and Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya(SAMV) won their semi final matches of 6th Chief of Army Running Cricket Tournament being held at Army School Ground Bhaktapur, held yesterday.
Galaxy defeated Rajan Memorial in by 9 wickets the first semi final. batting First Rajan Memorial riding on 31 by Pramod Khatri and 34 by Santosh Thjapa put up a score of 96 runs losing 6 wickets. the bowlers from Galaxy bowled economic none of them going over 20 runs in their spells. Rajendra Panta, Nabin Budathooki, Adity Pandey and Ayush hamal each picked up a wicket as well. Chasing Galaxy oBatsmen took the game away in a hurry getting to the total in only 12 over losing only one wicket. Aadil Khan and Askash Bista guided the team to victory and remained unbeated in 35 of 27 balls and 27 of 16 balls respectively. Nabin Budathoki made a run a ball 27 before falling to Sujan Chapaign. Nabin was adjudged the player of the match
In the other semi final hosts SAMV crushed Greenland Children Academy(GCA) by 9 wickets with nearly 11 0vers to spare. batting first GCA posted 79 runs before getting bowled over in 18th over. Gunjan Yadav picked up four wickets for SAMV.Suman Kunwar picked up 2 ickets as well. Sandeep Shrerchan top scored for GCA with 23 runs, while Dipesh thapa and Hiru hamal added 15 each. In reply SAMV got to the target in 1st ball of 10th over. Niraj Shrestah made a hasty 32 of 20 balls before getting out to Badal Limbu. Abishek Poudel and Niraml Bastakoti guided the hosts to victory with 26 and 9 runs respectively
The final match will be held on 9th December. Galaxy and SAMV faced each other at group stage , the match ending in a thrilling tie.
