Galaxy Enter Semis

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Galaxy Public School have entered the Semi final of 6th Chief of Army Cricket Tournament winning their match played today at Army School Ground, Bhaktapur

Galaxy vs. Deepjyoti (Pool A)

In the first match galaxy School defeated Deepjyoti by 67 runs. Batting first Galaxy made a whooping 190 runs for the loss of four wickets as three of its batsment corssed the 30 runs mark.  Nabin Budathoki, Adil Khan and Ayush Hamal making 47, 40 and 30 respectively. Dhirendra Raut contributed 27 n.o. Chasing a mammoth of a total, Deepjyoti were restriced for 123 runs for 7 wickets. Bikash Pun top scored for Deepjyoti with 28 runs, Ajay Sitaula contributed with 26. Rajendra Pal and NItesh Shah bagged two wickets each, Rajendra Pal ending with impressive figures of 3-1-14-2.

With 2 wins and a tie galaxy have 5 points and move into the semi finals, while Deepjyoti have been knocked out, with their second loss. The match between EPS and SAMV tomorrow will decide the next semi finalist from the group.

GCA vs Rajan Memorial (Pool B)

In the other match played today Greenland Children Academy (GCA) defeated Rajan Memorial by 16 runs. Batting first Greenland were bowled out for 92 runs in the eighteenth over. GCA defended the target thanks to very economical bowling form all the bowlers, 3 of them giving only 15 runs in their quota of four overs. Bijay Karki picked up 3 wickets for GCA while Sandeep Sherchand picked up two. Dipesh Thapa and Sushant KC chipped in with a wicket each.

 

After 2 matches all four teams of pool B have two points each! The next matches thus “do or die” for all the teams in this group
