Glacier‚ Emile enter quarters

LALITPUR: Glacier and Emile Academy entered the quarter-finals of the sixth SNB Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by AVM Higher Secondary School, here at Pulchowk Engineering College grounds today. Glacier beat Brihaspati Vidhyasadan by 116 runs and Amile defeated Rajan Memorial School by three wickets.

In the first match of the day, Jeevan Lamshal and Purushottam Jha scored half centuries as Glacier scored 198-6 in the allotted 20 overs before restricting Brihaspati Vidhyasadan for 82 runs in 10.4 overs despite a scintillating half century from Abhusan Yadav.

Jeevan remained unbeaten on 88 after stroking 12 fours in his 68-ball knock while Purushottam made a fluent 35-ball 52 which included seven boundaries. Nafeez Sheikh also contributed 12-ball 29 that included three fours and two sixes. Shreejesh Sthapit and Bishal Shrestha claimed two wickets each while Biraj Tandukar took one for Brihaspati.

Abhusan fought a lonely battle for Brihaspati scoring a quickfire 52 from 28 deliveries which included 11 fours. Man-of-the-match Purushottam returned to take 4-06 in two overs including a hat-trick for Glacier. Ram Krishna Jaishwal also grabbed three and Nafeez one wicket for Glacier.

In the day’s second match, Rajan Memorial only managed 74 runs in 15.3 overs after electing to bat first. Emile overcame the total for the loss of seven wickets in 12.3 overs.

Suraj Khatri top scored for Rajan Memorial with 29-ball 24 while Kuran Saud was the second best run-getter with 10. Man-of-the-match Ayush Regmi took 3-12 and Ayush Khanal grabbed 3-13 from four overs for Emile. Rupak Karn also bagged two and Alok Ranjan Mishra one wicket.

Dipesh Jha scored 16 and Alok Rajan contributed unbeaten 12 as Emile surpassed the target with more than seven overs to spare. Irfan Meeya was pick of the Rajan Memorial bowlers with 4-18 while Aryan Adhikari took 3-10 from four overs.
