Host SAMV Meets Galaxy In The Final

Host Sainik Awashiya Maha Vidhyala and Galaxy Public School entered the final of the 7th COAS Running Cricket Tournament recording huge wins over Nepal Police School and Nightangale School respectively. Sainik thrashed Nepal Police by 61 runs and Galaxy hammered Nightangale by a massive 120 runs.

It was a spirited perfromance and a good comeback by Sainik after they were bundled out for just 98 runs by a disciplined bowling attack of Nepal Police. Sainik bowled accurate lines and fielded brilliantly to pack Nepal Police for just 37 runs to record a comprehensive 61 runs win. None of the batsman reached double figures for Nepal Police. Right arm spinner Saroj Dallakoti was the star performer as he bagged 5 wickets for Sainik and was later adjudged Man of the Match.

Earlier, Manoj Pandit contributed 24 runs and 19 runs from Captain Bashu Baniya helped Sainik post 98 runs on the board. Nepal Police conceded 23 runs as extras but were brilliant on the field making 3 run outs. Sandesh Sen picked 4 wickets for Nepal Police.

Galaxy Public School Vs Nightangale School

In an one sided affair, Galaxy completely outplayed Nightangale hammering them by a massive 120 runs. Batting first, riding on captain Adil Khan’s brisk 47 off just 30 balls and opener Vinit Bafna’s 45 runs Galaxy posted 153 runs for the loss of six wickets. The duo added 71 runs for the 2nd wicket smashing fours all over the ground. Aakash Mehta and Bipin Acharya bagged two consolation wickets each for Nightangale.

Nightangale’s batting was another nightmare in the semi finals as they were bundled out for just 33 runs. Number 10 batsman Sushant Chaudhary was the only batsman to reach double figure for Nightangale scoring 11 runs. Adil was again in action with 3 wickets and grabbed another Man of the Match award for his all round performance.

5 times champion SAMV will face 1st edition champion Galaxy in a grand final at the Army Ground,Bhaktapur on March 10.
