Ireland Wolves seal T20 series win over Nepal A with second consecutive victory

The Nepal A team faced a back-to-back defeat against Ireland Wolves on Saturday. The Wolves emerged victorious by 40 runs at TU Cricket Ground. With consecutive victories, the visiting side has won the T20 series with a match to spare.

Chasing a massive target of 225 runs, the Nepalese side once again ended up on the losing side from the winning position. They were bowled out for 184 in 17.5 overs with 116/3 at one stage. Nepal’s top order once again yielded a fiery start with Lokesh Bam contributing 13-ball 25. Binod Bhandari coming to bat at no.3 scored 13-ball 26 whilst Dev Khanal who opened the inning scored 47 runs from 25 balls.

Apart from the top three, no batters could do well. Basir Ahamad scored a struggling 27 whereas Aarif made 14 runs. Pawan Sarraf scored 10 while Kiran Thagunna once again failed to leave a mark.

For Ireland Wolves, Ben White (4-0-29-3) was the pick of a bowler. Fionn Hand and Thomas Mayes picked up two wickets each whereas Matthew Foster and Gareth Delany bagged one each.

In the first inning, Ireland Wolves piled up 224/6 after being asked to bat first. James McCollum started brilliantly with 13-ball 26. PJ Moor continued the show and smacked 65 runs from 26 balls. It was skipper Neil Rock who did the damage with 71 runs from just 34 balls. He smashed one four and seven sixes. Fionn Hand at the end also contributed a valuable 19 runs.

For Nepal A, Sagar Dhakal picked up three wickets (4-0-33-3). Pawan Sarraf and Kamal Singh Airee also grabbed one wicket.

The last match of the T20 series will be played on April 1 at TU Cricket Ground.
