Karn and Amit Guide Nepal to Emphatic Victory

 

Nepal U-19 Cricket Team registered second win in ACC U-19 Elite Cup defeating Qatar comprehensively by 9 wickets in their match played toady at Bayuemas Oval, Kualalumpur Malaysia.

Winning the toss Qatar decided to bat first and made a steady start scoring 40 runs in 10 overs losing just one wicket(Undre b. Karn for 5 at 1/21 in 4.4 overs). Player of the match of the last match Sushant Bhari provided Nepal two quick breakthroughs first  dismissing Syed Shah for 14 runs in 11th over and then getting  captain Mirza Baig for naught in his next over. Qatar then 43-3 in 12.1 overs.

Abdullah Mohammad was trying to hold the innings together for Qatar but Avinash got better of his defense, rattling his stumps after Mohammad had made fighting 16. Qatar then 4-54.

Qatar team had started to loose momentum, Uzair Khan provided resistance to Nepal’s sharp bowling. He top scored for Qatar with 24 of 67 balls but was eventually run out.

Jhangir Ehsan was the only other batsmen who got double digits for Qatar getting his team to 93 runs. He was dismissed as 9th wicket bowled by Karn. Karn got rid of the last batsmen the very next ball, again bowled.

Karn ended the match with 4 wickets from his 7.3 overs giving away just 26 runs.

Sushant Bhari bagged 2 wickets from his economic 6 overs that consisted of 3 medians and just 11 runs. Captain of U19 side Bhuwan Karki and Nischal Pandey got wicket a piece.

Much talked about Yagya Man Kumal remained wicketless in the match however he produced a run out dismissing MS Prince for 4 getting Nepal its 8th wicket.

Amrit starred in Nepal’s chase scoring unbeaten 70 of the 94 runs in just 33 balls. He added 56 runs for the first wicket with Nischal who was dismissed for 12.

Amit added 38 remaining runs with Harishankar Shah who remained not out on 8.

Amrit scored 50 runs of his innings through boundaries getting 11 Fours and 1 Six in 33 balls he faced. He added the second 50 runs stand for Nepal in ACC U19 Elite Cup. Amrit and Harishankar had added 69 runs for second wicket against Kuwait in the previous match.Amrit had then scored 47 runs.

Avinash Karna was adjudged Player of the match for his brilliant bowling.

With 2 wins in a row Nepal is placed handsomely in the top of Group B table, bettering Malaysian team in NRR(Malaysia-+2.315 Nepal +2.698)
