Kathford joins Thames in finals

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: With an convincing win of 24 runs over Universal College, Kathford College entered into the finals of the Thames Intercollege T-20 Cricket Tournament today at the Army School Ground Bhaktapur.

After winning the toss, Universal College decided to field first. With the good spell of the class bowlers, Universal College was able to limit the score of Kathford college to 89 runs with loss of 9 wickets in the limited 15 overs. Due to the bad condition of the ground the match was reduced to 15 overs per side.

Siddhart Jung Karki of Universal bowled excellently. He was able to take 4 wickets giving away just 13 runs in his three overs spell. Other bowlers of Universal bowled finely but they were striving to get wickets. Kamal Shah was able to take 2 wickets for Universal college. Kiran Nepal and Nikunj Kumar were the notable bowlers of Universal to put the batsmen of Kathford in pressure. They both took one wickets giving away 13 and 14 runs respectively.

With the help of 3 fours Adarsh Panta personally made 19 runs for Kathford while Mahesh Khatri contributed 12 runs for the team facing 19 balls. Deepak Raj Bhatta registered 10 runs in his account.

Adarsh Panta of Kathford who did well with the bat showed his extra performance in the balls . His 3 overs spell was a tight one as he gave just 11 runs taking 2 important wickets of Universal. Omjee Upadhya took 3 wickets for Kathford giving away 22 runs. Roshan Singh and Ganesh Joshi had one one wickets registered in their accounts.

Batsman of Universal could not bat well. The batsman of Universal were facing difficulties even to make double figure score and no batsman was able to make score in line of 20s. Bhim Arjun Poudel contributed 18 runs for the team including 2 fours. Hitting a six Alex Shreshta of Universal made 11 runs facing 13 balls. As the batsmen of Universal were not able to play well they could only make 65 runs for loss of 9 wickets in 15 overs and hence had to bear the loss by 24 runs.

The all-rounder Adarsh Panta of Kathford was declared as Man of the Match for his 19 runs and 2 wickets.

With this win Kathford College is in the finals along with the organizer, Thames International College. The finals will be played tomorrow.
