Kathmandu, Dadeldhura Enter Last Eight

Tribhuwan Adarsha-representing Kathmandu and Mahendra Higher Secondary School (M.H.S.S.)-representing Dadeldhural Won their Round I matches of ongoing National Inter-school Girls Cricket Tournament and entered the Quarter finals.

17 District school teams representing all 9 regions are competing in the first ever National Inter-School Cricket.

Sunrise Higher Secondary School and Vidyasadan Higher Secondary School entered the next round after the other teams pulled off at the final moment. All four teams will feature in quarter final matches tomorrow itself. Tribhuwan Adarsha take on MHSS while Sunrise HSS take on Vidyasadan HSS.

Kathmandu vs. Chitwan

In a match where none of the batsman from either teams crossed double digits Tribhuwan Adarsh representing Kathmandu defeated Himalayan School from Chitwan by 15 runs.

Batting first Tribhuwan Adarsha posted mere 58 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Sajani who top scored for Kathmandu with 9 runs played as many as 41 balls. Sandhya KC(7), Susma Shrestha(6) and Asmina Karmacharya(5) were massive helps contending the small total. Sabita Gaudel bagged four wickets for Himalaya. Arya Aryal got two while Prabhs Nepali and Neelam Poudel got a wicket a piece.

In reply the school for Chitwan folded for just 43 runs. Rejika Bhandari(5) top scored for Himalaya in the boundaryless second innings of the match. Kanchan Shrestha who bagged 3 wickets from her 4 overs was adjudged the player of the match. Susma Shrestha got also got 3 wickets and gave away just 6 runs from her 4 overs.

Dadeldhura vs. Rupandehi

In the other match played today at Rangasala MHSS defeated Apex School by 2 wickets Apex School riding on unbeaten 44 runs from Barsha Rana posted 101 runs losing 4 wickets. Rana’s 46 ball inning included 2 boundries. Sadhana Gautam contributed 16 to Apex’s total. Rekha Padal returned figures of 4-0-14-1 for MHSS.

MHSS played through 4 wicket haul from Pabitra Khanal and economic 4 overs from Barsa Rana and got to the target with 4 balls to spare. Suman Gupta top scored for MHSS with 20 runs from just 22 balls. Nirmala Bhatta(15), Hema Ayer(9*), Sunita Malla(6) and Mausami Pathak(6) helped MHSS with the successful chase. However it was Barsha Rana from Apex who got the player of the match award for the all round performance.
