Kathmandu registers big victory

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Region Number 3 Kathmandu registered a huge victory of 156 runs over Region Number 5 Nepalgunj in Wai Wai Under 19 National Cricket Tournament today at Rangashala, Pokhara.

Kathmandu winning the toss scored a big total of 266 runs losing ten wickets in 47.4 overs. Opening pair Prakash Bista and Ashish Dhami shared a partnership of 67 runs for first wicket. Man of the match Bista completed an magnificent 109 off 124 balls with twelve fours and three sixes. Bista shared 59 runs partnership with Pawan Shrestha for third wicket while he also shared 105 runs partnership with Sharad Khadka for fourth wicket. Dhami scored 21 runs while Shrestha 22 and Khadka 30 were some other major contributors.

Bhupendra Roka Magar grabbed three wickets. Amar Singh, Siddhant Raj Shahi and Aakash Bista claimed two wickets each while Inamuddin Halwai picked one for Nepalgunj.

In reply, Nepalgunj lost all of their wickets in 23.5 overs for 110 runs. Wasim Halwai top scored with 18 runs while Imran Alam Khan 17, Amar Singh Routela 16, Pravin Giri 14 and Prajjwal Shahi 13 were other contributors.

Ujjwal Thapa claimed three wickets, Sharad Khadka and Sanjay Thapa took two wickets each while Prajesh Bahadur Singh and Abhiraj Yadav grabbed a wicket each for Kathmandu.

Region Number 6 Baitadi will take on Region Number 1 Biratnagar in a must win match on Monday.
