Khakurel, Bhandari excluded from squad against Scotland

Kathmandu- Wicketkeeper batsmen Subash Khakurel and Binod Bhandari have been excluded from squad that will play against Scotland in the upcoming ICC World Cricket League Championship after a poor run of form. Sagar Pun also misses out from the squad due to injury.

Mahesh Chhetri, who is currently in England playing club cricket will take over the duty of wicketkeeper, and opening batsman in place of Khakurel. Prithu Baskota makes a comeback in the team after a span of more than one and half year. He is also in England playing club cricket. Both Mahesh, and Prithu will join the team directly from England.

Left Arm Fast bowler – Avinash Karn keeps a place into the team while Siddhant Lohani, who impressed all with the bat in Nepal’s final game against Jersey has been included in the squad. He was not in the initial squad, but the team management decided to include him later.

This is Nepal’s first game in the ICC WCL Championship. The great quake that shook Nepal on 25th April forced ICC to reschedule the match for July 29th and 31st. Earlier both the matches were scheduled for June 10 and 12.
