KHMC advance to the semis

KATHMANDU:
Abhishek Sapkota completed a five-wicket haul as Kantipur Hotel Management College (KHMC) advanced to the semi-finals of the Martyrs Dil Bahadur Ramtel Running Cup Cricket Tournament defeating Himalayan White House International College by eight wickets here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, White House scored 82-8 in their allotted 20 overs while KHMC overcame the total losing two wickets in 13.5 overs. Man-of-the-match Abhishek picked up 5-17 to restrict White House for a paltry total.

Sandeep Lamichhane top scored for White House with 43-ball 26 that included four boundaries, while Prashant Pradhan (21 not out) was their next batsman to score in double figure. Apart from Abhishek, Saroj Bhattarai, Prem Gauchan and Ujjwal Giri picked up one wicket apiece for KHMC.

In reply, Sri Krishna Shrestha contributed 31 off 34 balls that included three fours and a six to steer KHMC home. Rahul Kunwar added an unbeaten 28 and Ishwor Pokhrel remained unbeaten on 11. Mohanish Dangol picked both KHMC wickets to fall.
