KIST, Ace triumph

KATHMANDU, June 25: KIST Medical College and Ace Institute registered victory in the rain affected matches of the ongoing 4th CCRC ICC T-20 Cricket Tournament on Saturday.

KIST registered a seven-run victory over the host CCRC ´B´ while Ace defeated Intensive by nine wickets in the matches played at TU Ground, Kirtipur.

The match between CCRC and KIST was reduced to 10 overs per side due to rain. CCRC won the toss and scored 86 runs losing five wickets. Rajesh Pulami scored 42 runs off 29 balls with two boundaries and a six. Sanjeeb Kumar Jha took three wickets for KIST.

The second inning of the match was stopped at 8.5 overs due to heavy rain. According to the parabola formula, KIST required 78 runs to win the match in 9 overs. KIST scored 84 runs in just 8.5 overs. KIST won the match by 7 runs according to the parabola formula. Prabesh Karki was not out with 23 runs off 27 balls.

In another match, Ace won the toss and invited Intensive to bat first in the 13 overs reduced match. Intensive scored 39 runs off seven overs losing three wickets. Ritesh Adhikari scored 16 runs while Sijan Subedi scored 15 runs. Avash Ghimire took a wicket for Ace while two batsmen were run out.

Ace reached the target of 40 runs losing a wicket. Binod Singh Bhandari was not out with 24 runs off 16 balls, including three boundaries. Dikshant Koirala was run out at eight runs.
