Kolkata Satya Bharati enters final of Indo-Nepal U-16 Cricket Tournament

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Kolkata Satya Bharati entered into the final of the Wai Wai Indo Nepal U-16 Cricket Tournament being held in capital after beating New Horizon, Bhairahawa by 21 runs in the first semi final played today at Pulchowk Engineering Ground.

Satya Bharati won the toss and opted to bat first. With Taran Preet SIngh and the player of the match Manoj Dutta scoring 35 runs each and Ravi Sharma and Pankish Kumar Singh contributing 27 and 17 runs respectively, Satya Bharati put a good total of 162 runs in 20 overs. Yogesh Dhakal’s four wicket haul and a wicket each from Sandeep Sunar, Bishal Sunar ad Rupesh Bastola was not enough for the New Horizon to restrict KSV for a low score.

In reply New Horizon could manage only 141 runs in loss of seven wickets, Shankar Rana showed a fine display with the bat adding 54 runs off 46 deliveries including six fours and two sixes but it was not enough to beat KSV as none other shined. Bishal Sunar added 17 while Rupesh Bastola and Nurdhoj Sen added 15 and 12 runs respectively for New Horizon. Atul Niraula grabbed two wickets while Akshya Kumar, Kamal Dhoj SIngh and Omkar Singh shared a wicket each.

While in the undetermining group stage match of Group D, DAV School 132/4 beat TCA Kerala 56/10 by 76 runs. Man of the match Aashish Kumar Jha smashed 57 runs off 47 balls with eight boundaries and picked up four wickets.

Kolkata Satya Bharati will now play the winner of the second semmi final between Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya and Galaxy Public School in the final to be played on Saturday at Pulchowk Engineering Ground.

The tournament is organized by Greenland Children Academy H.S. School and runs for 5 days where 10 schools are participating.
