Koshi Province thrash MBSA Blue in a dead rubber

Koshi Province thrashed Madan Bhandari Sports Academy Blue in the last group stage match of the KP Oli T20 Tournament on Wednesday. Despite Koshi’s victory, Group D standings remained unchanged, as Tribhuwan Army Club had already solidified their spot in the semifinals with consecutive wins.

Koshi will return home on a positive note with a victory. They defeated MBSA Blue by nine wickets. Chasing a mere target of 68 runs, Koshi completed a goal in just 7.4 overs losing one wicket. Sonu Ansari scored an unbeaten 22-ball 35 while Minash Thapa smacked seven-ball 18*. Skipper Ankit Subedi got out after scoring a sluggish 14.

In the first inning, MBSA Blue were wrapped up for a mere 67 runs in 14.4 overs after being put into bat first. Six batters were dismissed for a duck. Opener Arjun Raymajhi top scored with 24 runs.

Sarwan Yadav picked up three wickets (3.5-0-8-3) for Koshi and got the Player of the Match award. Kamal Khatri and Firdosh Ansari also pocketed two wickets each.

Bagmati Province, APF, Madhesh Province and Tribhuwan Army booked a place in the top four of the tournament. The winning prize of the tournament is NPR Five Lakhs and the runner-up prize is NPR Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand.
