Kumhraura clinches title

Kumhraura Cricket Team clinched the title of Himalaya T20 Cricket Tournament 2011 defeating the host Himalaya Cricket Team by 1 wicket in a final match played here at Janata Secondary School Cricket ground, Naktajhij, Janakpur on Wenesday.

Winning the toss and opting to batting first Himalaya scored 149 runs losing 7 wickets in allocated 20 overs.

In reply, Kumhraura chased the target in 19.5 runs losing 9 wickets. Sambhu Jha made 53 runs for the winners. Jha was adjudged the man of the match.

Former minister Satrudhan Mahato attended the closing ceremony and awarded Rs. 2100 as cash prize with certificates and trophy to the winners and while the runners up were awarded with the cash prize of Rs 1500 with certificates and trophy.

Mohan Shah from Himalaya Cricket Club was adjudged as the man of the series.

9 teams participated in the tournament.

Mahato as being the chief guest said, ” Dhanusha District can make its own identity in the nation through sports”. “I will try my best to uplift the sports sector of Dhanusha”, he added.
