Malla guides Nepal to victory in a practice match

Nepal National Team registered a victory by huge 116 runs against Joseph Vas Club in a fourth practice match played today. Nepal National Team is currently in Sri Lanka for the preparation of the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division IV to be held in Malaysia from September 3rd.

Gyanendra Malla struck an influential century, 108 runs as Nepal posted a good total of 217 runs in allotted 40 overs losing six wickets.  Sharad Vesawkar added 39 runs while Subash Khakurel and Paras Khadka contributed 14 runs each, Anil Mandal made 12 runs.

In reply, Joseph were all out for 101 runs. Basanta Regmi remained the pick of the bowlers as he grabbed four wickets. Sanjam Regmi picked up three, Shakti took two while Binod Das got a wicket.

After having some weeks training, the team will now leave for Malaysia on Saturday, while Pradeep Airee and Rahul Vishwakarma who are in Nepal will fly to Malaysia directly tomorrow.

Nepal is participating in the tournament along with Tanzania, Denmark, USA, Singapore and host Malaysia. The top two teams will qualify for the Division III tournament. The tournament is also a gateway to the world cup.
