Maruti Suzuki XI and Bagmati Chargers victorious

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Maruti Suzuki XI Kathmandu and agmati Chargers Bhairahawa – 1 registered wins in the second day of the super league round of the ongoing Nepal Marwadi Cricket League here today.

In a first match at Tribhuwan University Ground, Maruti Suzuki XI Kathmandu registered a victory by 26 runs against RMC Yodha Birgunj – 1 to stand first of all the four teams till the day with two straight wins.

Hitesh Dalmiya scored 61 runs off 34 balls with eleven fours and Amol Sharma added 29 off 21 as Kathmandu scored a good total of 169 runs in loss of seven wickets off the maximum 20 overs.

Dalmiya had a 86 runs opening partnership with Sharma. Abhishek Bathwal and Dipesh Agrawal were not out at 13 runs each.

Jay Prashant Sarraf and Rahul Agrawal picked up two wickets each while Pawan Agrawal took one for RMC Yodha.

Man of the match Summit Sharma claimed four wickets while Naveen Jain, Umesh Kochar and Amol Sharma took a scalp each as RMC Yodha were restricted to 143 runs in 20 overs before losing eight wickets.

Pawan Agrawal scored the highest 51 runs off 43 deliveries with four fours and two sixes while Sumit Kadiya(25), Krishna Soni(19) and Mahesh Jatia(13) contributed to their part. But the score was not enough for the chase.

In another match, at the same venue, Bagmati Chargers Bhairahawa – 1 defeated Arihant Group Biratnagar – 1 by two wickets.

Arihant Group who chose to bat scored a good total of 170 runs in 20 overs losing only two wickets. Pankaj Prakash Pawan remained unbeaten at 52 runs while Shailesh Sethi scored 48 runs and Paras Lunia remained not out at 45 runs. Pawan played 32 balls to a four and three sixes. Sethia hit seven fours off his 34 balls play while Lunia struck four fours and two sixes during his 21 balls. Abhisek Agrawal who shared a first wicket partnership of 59 runs with Sethia contributed 14 runs off 29 balls. Pawan and Lunia batted the innings and put a 87 runs partnership.

Damodar Prasad Sharma and Dinesh Agrawal claimed a wicket each for Bagmati Chargers.

In reply, Bagmati Chargers chased the target in 20 overs losing eight wickets. Rahul Agrawal top scored with 41 runs off 35 balls including five fours. Saurabh Agrawal added 33 runs off 27 balls with five fours. Man of the match Dinesh Agrawal remained unbeaten at 26 runs off 13 balls with five fours. Sunil Sethia made 21 runs off 15 balls hitting four fours. Manish Garg added 12 while Damodar Prasad Sharma made 10 runs.

Gaurav Sethia and Paras Lunia picked up two wickets each while Komal Kothari and Bivek Dugar picked a wicket each for Arihant Group.

With the win Maruti Suzuki XI Kathamndu – 1stand first with four points while Arihant Group Biratnagar – 1 stands second with better net run rate. Arihant Group Biratnagar – 1 and Bagmati Chargers Bhairahawa – 1 both have two points while RMC Yodha Birgunj – 1 is pointless.

On Friday, Arihant Group Biratnagar – 1 will meet Maruti Suzuki XI Kathmandu – 1 in the first match while Bagmati Chargers Bhairahawa – 1 will face RMC Yodha Birgunj – 1.
