MCC to visit Nepal on November

Kathmandu- Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is set to visit Nepal in November to play five matches against different teams.

MCC team will arrive in Nepal in November 12, however, the schedule of matches is yet to be announced.

In July next year, Nepal’s national side will play their first ever match at Lord’s Cricket Ground against the home team on a day that will mark 200 years of Nepal-U.K. bilateral relationship.

In a press meet organized in Kathmandu to inform about the tour, MCC Head of Cricket John Stephenson said they are trying to support Nepal Cricket grow as much they can. “Cricket in Nepal is growing rapidly and Nepal has got a lot of potential. That’s why we feel we should visit Nepal more often than other countries,” he added.

“We have kept Nepal on top of the priority list of cricket developing countries. We will help Nepal on other aspects of the game as well,” he further said.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN)’s CEO Bhawana Ghimire said she is delighted to see MCC in Nepal and thanked MCC for arranging the tour.

The MCC team will also be bringing Level 3 coaches to Nepal during the tour informed John Stephen.

MCC is the world’s most active cricket club, the owner of Lord’s Ground and the guardian of the Laws of the game.
