Kathmandu – Nepali Men’s Cricket team led by Paras Khadka are leaving for India to play practice matches against the club sides, before the ICC T20 Qualifier kicks off in UAE in March 2012.
The 23 members team along with Coach Pubudu Dassanayake were fare-welled by Mr. Tanka Anbuhang(Limbu), the President of CAN at Hotel Crowne Plaza today. The team departed at 16:15 NST under Amir Bir Pandey, member of CAN. Selectors won’t travel with the team for this tour though.
“The team will play Seven T20s and two 50 overs matches with different clubs and academy team from February 2-10 at Mumbai, India. “, Ashok Nath Pyakurel, General Secretary told.
Meanwhile, the Women’s U19 team will also depart tomorrow for the upcoming ACC U-19 Women’s Championship that will start from February 3 – 10 at Kuwait. 17 members women’s team will travel with CAN’s Vice President Keshav Ghimire.
Before the departure, the team will be fare-welled at Youth and Sports Ministry, Kamalpokhari tomorrow at 14:00 NST.
Defending champion Nepal has been placed to Group A along with UAE, Malaysia, Thailand and China.
