Mulpani Cricket Ground hosts first-ever ODI match

The Mulpani Cricket Ground in Nepal recently made history by hosting its first-ever One Day International (ODI) match. The ground, which became the 216th venue to host an ODI, is now Nepal’s second ground to host an ODI match after the TU Cricket Ground.

The occasion was the semi-final match between Oman and UAE in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Men’s Premier Cup 2023, which took place on Saturday, 29th April. It is also the first time that the international tournament was hosted at the Mulpani Cricket Ground.

The match was a thrilling encounter, with both teams fighting hard for a place in the final. In the end, it was UAE who emerged victorious, beating Oman by two runs in the DLS method to secure their spot in the final.

The Mulpani Cricket Ground, which is located in the capital city of Kathmandu, was renovated quickly to meet international standards.
