Mulpani Cricket Ground to be built within a year

The government has unveiled its plan to build a cricket ground in Mulpani in Kathmandu within a year (within the upcoming fiscal year 2022/23).

Minister for Finance Janardan Sharma, unveiling the budget for the upcoming fiscal year in the joint session of the Federal Parliament on Sunday, shared that the government has allocated Rs 2.4 billion budget to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

According to the forthcoming budget, the government will take over the remaining works relating to the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in coordination with the local government.

Each local level will see a sports village built in its locality while an international cricket stadium will be built at Fapla in Dhangadi as well as in Kohalpur in Banke district, according to Minister Sharma.

Private sectors will be encouraged to establish Sports University, Minister Sharma said.
