Mumbai Cricket Club won both of their matches in the final day of the Two Days Friendly T20 Match Series between Chelsea International Academy and Mumbai Cricket Club here at TU Ground on Thursday. On winning the toss, Chelsea A opted to field first. For Mumbai B, Ajoy opened the innings with an impressive performance of 34 runs from just 25 balls with three fours before being caught on the ball of Suresh Adhikari. Mahesh added 25 runs on the board with two fours. Two wickets each from Suresh Adhikari and Siddhartha Poudyal and a wicket each from Manoj Chundali, Bijay Sapkota and Manish Dhakal helped Chelsea A restrict Mumbai B to the totals of 118 runs for 8 wickets in the allocated 20 overs. Chasing the target Ruksal Bohara made 12 runs from 21 balls while Manish Shrestha made 11 runs off 13 balls. None of the other batsmen made a double digit score. With three wickets from Sanket and Divesh, two wickets from Abhisek and a wicket from Joy, Mumbai B managed to restrict Chelsea A on 64 runs for 10 wickets to register a win by 54 runs.
In another match played, Mumbai A registered a 9 wickets win over Chelsea B. Chelsea B won the toss and elected to bat first. Srijan Amatya made a good start for the team with 19 runs off 24 balls with a single four. But it all went down when he was bowled out by Pratik. The wickets then started falling down. Thanks to Nilaya Mainali who made a wonderful half century from 45 balls with seven fours which helped Chelsea B to make a good total of 118 runs loosing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Harshad took three wickets; Pratik took two wickets while Bhavesh took one wicket for Mumbai B. Defending the target Ajinkya made 61 runs from 41 balls with five fours and one six, Ankit added 38 runs from 35 balls with two fours and a six to the board to win the match by 9 wickets in the thirteenth over.
Earlier, Mumbai A had defeated Chelsea A by 92 runs while Mumbai B had defeated Chelsea B by 12 runs. “We have been playing matches from recent years against Mumbai Cricket Club and we hope it will continue in the upcoming years. No matter whoever wins? We have got to learn more”, said skipper Ghanashyam Neupane from the home team. The team from Mumbai Cricket Club is here for a tour under the coaching of Jwala Singh.
