Nary Thapa helps APF Women to narrow win over Bagmati

Allrounder Nary Thapa left the Lumbini Province team to rejoin APF Women’s team in this year’s 9th National games and announced herself with a Player of the Match award with an all-round performance today at Pokhara Rangashala.

Put into bat, Bagmati Province managed 89 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs in their second match of the tournament. Innings from Suman Khatiwada and Ashmina Karmacharya were notable as the duo hit 19 runs each and thanks to 20 extras as well.

Bagmati Province scored 4 boundaries in their entire innings and lost four wickets in run-outs.

Rekha Rawal, Nary Thapa (3-0-13-1), and Indu Barma grabbed one wicket each for APF Women.

In reply, APF Women were reduced to 31/4 in 7 overs. Their opener Sita Rana Magar made 16 runs in 10 balls with two boundaries and a six. Jyoti Pandey managed 1 run while Sarita Magar didn’t trouble the scorer.

Roma Thapa was the highest scorer during the chase. She made 22 off 35 balls with one boundary. At 15.5 overs, APF were pushed back to 69/6 after Mamta Chaudhary was dismissed for 17 off 27 runs. However, Nary Thapa solidated the innings with an unbeaten 16 runs from 18 balls to chase the target in 19.1 overs with four wickets in hand.

Sony Pakhrin and Suman Khatiwada bagged two wickets each while Ashmina Karmacharya took one scalp.
