Nepal Army beats British Infantry in a friendly

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Nepal Army defeated British Infantry Cricket Club by eight wickets in a friendly played on Friday at Pulchowk Engineering Cricket Ground, Lalitpur.

Nepal Army who elected to bowl first bundled out British Infantry for just 102 runs in 19.4 overs. Fred Moywan remained the top scorer for the visiting team with 16 runs while Jim Codling and Gedian Charles added 15 and 14 runs each for the team. Rahul Vishwakarma who celebrates his birthday tomorrow took two important wickets while Rajesh Pulami, Chandra Sawad, Anil Mandal and Naresh Budhaayer shared a wicket each.

In reply, Nepal Army chased the total easily in 12.4 overs losing only two of their wickets. Naresh Budhayer remained unbeaten at 42 runs off 24 balls and newly signed wicketkeeper-batsman Mahesh Chhetri was not out at 36 runs off 43 balls. Budhayer’s inning included seven boundaries and a six while Chhetri hit four boundaries and a six. Jim Codling claimed a wicket for British Infantry.

Chhetri earlier played for Region No 5 (Nepalgunj) in the recently concluded National T20.
