Nepal beat Bhutan, enter finals

Kathmandu – Nepal had a nail biting 3 wickets win over Bhutan in the first semi final of ACC U-19 Women’s Championship at  KOC Unity Ground, Kuwait on Thursday. Nepal has entered into the finals after today’s win.

Defending Champion Nepal was invited to field after Bhutan won the toss. With Dechen Wangmo scoring 49 runs and Yeshet Wangmo making 26, Bhutan put up the total of 96 runs for 7 wickets.

Saraswoti Kumar Chaudhary grabbed 2 wickets each for Nepal. While Sonu Khadka and Rubina Chhetri shared a wicket each.

From a situation of 2 for 2, Nepal struggled to 46 for 4, and finally the 7th wicket partnership brought up the delight for Nepal. Nepal chased the target with 4 balls remaining in loss of 7 wickets.

Rubina Chhetri scored 20 runs off 42 balls, Sonu Khadka made 16 runs off 18 deliveries remaining unbeaten. Khadka hit two fours.  Anuradha Chaudhary scored 10 runs and Saraswoti Chaudhary contributed 9 runs in Nepal’s win.

Nepal will take on Thailand for the title on Friday.
