Nepal beats Nerul Gymkhana

Kathmandu – Nepal defeated Nerul Gymkhana by 32 runs in third practice match off the mumbai tour of Men’s Senior Team on Monday.

Winning the toss, Nerul Gymkhana invited Nepal to bat first. Put into bat first, Nepal made a good score of 185 runs for 9 wickets in allotted 40 overs. For Nepal, Gyanendra Malla top scored with 40 runs from 79 balls. Basanta Regmi remained not out at 37 runs. Malla’s inninhs included a single boundary while Regmi hit 2 fours and 2 sixes. Paras Khadka and Prithu Baskota scored 26 runs each. Khadka hit a four and a six while Baskota hit 2 fours. Paresh Lohani (13) ad Anil Mandal (11) were the other batsman to enter a double digit figure. Shakti Gauchan and Rahul Kumar Vishwakarma each made 5 runs, Sharad Vesawkar went for lbw for 3 runs while Binod Bhandari went for a duck out.

Bharat Solanki and Sunil Chauri grabbed 3 wickets each for Nerul, Manish Rao took 2 wickets while Bharat Patil took a single wicket.

4 wickets from Rahul Kumar Bishwakarma, 2 wickets each from Amrit Bhattarai and Krishna Karki and 1 wicket each from Avinash Karn and Prithu Baskota helped Nepal restrict Nerul Gymkhana to 159 runs in 38.5 overs

Sarfaraz Khan top scored 51 runs for the home side. Khan played 121 balls and hit a four and 2 sixes. Vishal Chitrakar scored 28 runs before being bowled by Krishna Karki. He hit 6 fours. Bharat Solanki made 23 while Sagar Sawant added 20 runs as a closing pair. None of the other could reach double digit figure. 10 extras were awarded from the side of Nepal.

Nepal will play against DY Patil Club in a T20 match on Tuesday.
