Nepal Cricket Team to reach Pakistan early for Asia Cup preparation

The Nepalese Cricket Team will be travelling to Pakistan earlier than their original schedule to prepare for Asia Cup. According to a report by Pakistan’s Samaa News, Nepal will reach Pakistan on 22 August, ahead of their initially planned schedule.

This adjustment was made upon Nepal’s request to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), aiming for additional practice time in Pakistan. Nepal are set to play their first ODI match in Pakistan.

As per Samaa News, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had sent an email to PCB, expressing their intention to arrive earlier than initially planned.

In reply, The PCB sent them a new schedule, which states that the Nepalese team will practice in Karachi from August 22nd to August 26th.

After a practice in Karachi, Team Nepal will travel to Multan on August 27. They will play against Pakistan on August 30 in the first match of the Asia Cup 2023. Then both sides will fly to Sri Lanka, where they will play a match against India.

Nepal will face India in Kandy on September 4. Meanwhile, The much anticipated India vs Pakistan is set to be played on September 2.

Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are set to compete in the 13-match tournament. Pakistan, Nepal and India are placed in Group A, while Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are in Group B.

Team Nepal recently participated in the 15-day high-performance camp in Sri Lanka after the conclusion of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. They played several practice matches against strong local teams.
