Nepal U19 defeat Oman by huge margin of 304 runs

Nepal U19 team defeated the Oman team by a huge margin of 304 runs in the 7th match of the ACC U19 Elite Cup 2011 here at Terdthai Cricket Ground, Thailand.

During the chase, Oman could only manage 87 runs in 31.5 overs and were bowled out cheaply. Rahul Vishwakarma and Avinash Karn grabbed 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Meanwhile, Prithu Baskota and Bhuvan Karki took one wicket each.

Similarly, there were 3 runouts, created by the Nepali Fielders. Fajlur Rahman was awarded “Man of the Match” for his century knock of 101.

Earlier, Nepal scored a mammoth total of 392 against the Oman U19 team after Captain Prithu Baskota chose to bat first on a damp pitch against Oman.

Man of the match for the earlier match against UAE, Fajlur Rahman continued his form and scored his maiden ODI century in just 96 balls before he got out. He got his three figures with the help of 10 boundaries. Rahman also shared a 100-run partnership with Sagar Pun. The duo put up a hundred-run partnership in 127 balls for the second wicket.

Meanwhile, Nepal U19 had another century stand. Sagar Pun and Pradeep Airee added 100 runs for the 3rd wicket. Pradeep Airee played a blistering inning as he hit 5 sixes and 5 fours from his 40 balls. Airee managed 84 runs.

Oman received five bonus runs as Nepali batsmen were penalised for running on the pitch on the last ball of the inning.
