Nepal faces yet another defeat

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Nepal National Cricket Team faced yet another defeat as Telefunkin Cricket Club, Delhi defeated the touring side by seven wickets today.

Telefunkin won the toss and elected to field in a 45 overs per side match. Nepal posted an low total of 217 runs losing nine of their wickets in 45 overs where Sharad Vesawkar and Paras Khadka each contributed with a half century. Sharad hit 58 off 65 balls with two fours and three sixes while Paras smashed seven fours and a six in his 44 balls-57. Gyanendra Malla and Subash Khakurel added 27 runs each.

For Telefunkin, Gourav Kocha grabbed four wickets while Pradeep SIngh, Bharat SIndwani, Mayank Dagar, Nitesh Kumar and Ankit Dabas shared a wicket each.

In reply, Telefunkin chased the target in 36.3 overs losing only three wickets. Deepak Khatri remained unbeaten at 82 runs off 78 balls with seven fours and two sixes while Ankit Dabas scored 65 runs. Gourav Gochar contributed 19 runs while Nirbhay Godlaw remained not out at 48 to lead the team to victory.

Sanjam Regmi, Rahul Vishwakarma and Ram Naresh Giri claimed a wicket each for Nepal.

Nepal national cricket team is in Delhi as a part of preparation to ACC T20 Cup and the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 Tournament. Nepal had defeated D.I. Khan coaching Center by 42 runs in first practice match while in the second practice match they lost to Vijay Dhaiya Academy by 7 runs.

Nepal will take on Dronacharya Club (Delhi Blues) tomorrow in a 50 overs match.
