Nepal Govt. grants Rs. 30M for Mulpani Cricket Ground

KATHMANDU: Ministry of Youth and Sports will grant Rs. 30 Million for the construction of Mulpani Cricket Ground. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) signed a contract with Gaura Construction Pvt. Ltd. on Tueday.

The two parties also agreed to complete the project by Mid-November this year. CAN President Binaya Raj Pandey and Director of Gaura Construction signed the contract at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The government will grant Rs 30 million for the construction work and Rs 9.7 million will be funded by CAN. “It was the first support for cricket from the government side and we hope for further support,” said CAN President.

The two-storey pavilion building will have a store room, players´ change-room, medical room, umpires seating area, CAN operation office, VIP seating area, media room, media center and live commentary room.

Minister for Youth and Sports Hit Bahadur Tamang said that the Mulpani Ground could also help in the development of sports tourism.
