Nepalese Women’s Cricket Team has started the ACC Women’s T20 Championship with a win over Bhutan. Nepal registered a mammoth 50 runs victory at UKM-YSD Cricket Oval.

Indu Barma and Kajol Shrestha then shared 32 runs for the 4th wicket before Indu walked off for 20 runs. Kajol and skipper Rubina Chhetri then added 32 runs for the 5th wicket to guide Nepal towards a fighting total. Kajol scored 26 whilst Rubina scored 21 before being dismissed in the last over. No other batters were able to cross double-digit scores as Nepal finished on 94/9 after 20 overs.

Sonam Paldon grabbed 4 wickets for Bhutan whereas Anju Gurung and Tashi Cheki pocketed 1 wicket each.

Chasing a total of 95 runs Bhutan never looked stable and were bowled out for mere 44 runs in 17.5 overs. Only Tshering Zangmo (16) managed to cross double-digit score for the Bhutanese team.

Sangita Rai was pick of a bowler for Nepal taking 4 wickets for just 6 runs. Sita Magar and Kabita Kunwar grabbed a couple of wickets whereas Ashmina Karmacharya and Indu Barma picked up one wicket each.
