Nepal loses against SL U-23 in First Practice

Cricnepal/Kathmandu – Nepali Team lost its first practice match of the ongoing Sri Lanka tour against Srilanka U-23 team by 7 wickets yesterday.

Nepal bundled out for just 127 runs in 36 overs after batting first. Prithu Baskota top scored with 44 runs and remained not out while Anil Mandal and Rahul VK scored 25 & 24 runs respectively.

Srilanka U23 players took 24 overs to chase the modest target losing 3 wickets. Ramesh Naresh Giri(2) and Basanta Regmi (1) were among the bowlers who took the wickets for Nepal.

Nepali team hasn’t played competitive cricket since the ICC World Cricket League Division III in Bermuda. This tour will help them to learn and grow in their batting and bowling skills playing against the teams from the Island Nation.

The Nepali Cricket team is on a 14-day tour of Sri Lanka for the prepartion of ACC Emerging Teams Cup to be held in Singapore from August 17-25. Nepal will face India U-23, Pakistan U-23 and Afghanistan in the tournament.
