Nepal loses to Roshanara

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Nepal lost to Roshanara Cricket Club, Delhi in a T20 practice match played today at Roshanara Club Ground, Delhi.

Nepal team who is in tour of Delhi as a part of preparation of the upcoming ACC Twenty20 Cup and ICC World Cricket League Division III won the toss and opted to bat first in a day night match.

With skipper Paras Khadka scoring 32 off 31 Nepal posted a low total of 129 runs in 20 overs. Binod Bhandari added 17 runs, Manjeet Shrestha added 16 while Rahul Vishwakarma, Sagar Pun and Sharad Vesawkar contributed 10 runs each.

Sahil Harneja, Rohin Khanna and Dalip Dugar claimed two wickets each for the host side while Nishank Gosain, Manish Agrawal and Sidhant Malik managed to add one each to their account.

In reply, Nepali bowlers cound’t cheap in the wickets of Roshanara as the home side chased the target in 19.4 overs losing eight of their wickets. Leaving the match at balanced state just three overs before for end of the innings, Nepali bowlers couldn’t deliver well in the death overs. Sanjam Regmi was the pick of the bowler with two wickets while Paras Khadka, Manjeet Shrestha, Jitendra Mukhiya and Chandra Sawad managed to claim a wicket each.

Shiv Puri remained the top scorer for the winning side with unbeaten 36 runs. Karan Negi scored 23 off 18, Jagrit Anand added 20 while Nishank Gosain contributed 9 runs.

Nepal’s next match is on Thursday against Bharat Nagar Academy.
