Nepal restrict Scotland to 212 runs

The Nepalese national cricket team has wrapped up Scotland for 212 runs in the final match of the CWC League 2 Tri-Series at Nepal. Winning the toss in the fourth match in a row, Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC shine to restrict Scotland to an average total in 46.1 overs.

Scotland had a brilliant start after being invited to bat first. The visitors added 59 runs from the first powerplay losing Kyle Coetzer for 22 runs. George Munsey kept scoring quick runs until Sandeep Lamichhane bowled him. The southpaw scored 60 from 50 balls with nine fours and two sixes. Lamichhane dismissed skipper Berrington in the very next ball as Scotland were three down for 89 runs in the 14th over.

Christopher McBride and Tomas Mackintosh also walked back without doing any special as the champions were half-team down for 118 runs within the 22nd over. Brandon McMullen and Matthew Cross then shared 57 runs for the sixth wicket to guide the Scottish side towards a respectful total. However, a quick couple of wickets from Karan Kc saw Nepal in a hot seat picking up nine wickets for 196. KC himself dismissed Mark Watt to wrap up the opposition for 212 runs.

Sandeep Lamichhane once again was the pick of a bowler for Nepal, grabbing four wickets. The leggie conceded 45 runs from his spell. Karan Kc, despite being expensive at the start, picked up three wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi and Kushal Malla also pocketed one each.
