Nepal suffers heavy defeat against Windward Volcanoes but clinches T20 series 2-1

The Nepalese team suffered a big defeat against Windward Volcanoes in the last practice game in St. Vincent. However, Nepal won the three-match T20 series 2-1.

Chasing a massive target of 206 runs, Nepal was wrapped up for just 138 runs in 17.2 overs, losing the match by 67 runs. Nepal lost Kushal Bhurtel in the third ball after smacking two boundaries. Anil Sah was dismissed cheaply (2) whereas Aasif Sheikh made 11-ball 24. Rohit Paudel continued his good form and notched up 53 runs from 36 balls. Sundeep Jora struggled and made 21 from 26 balls.

There was no special contribution from the tail apart from 13 runs by Karan KC. Gulshan Jha and Pratish GC were dismissed for a duck.

Earlier, Windwards posted 205 runs on the board after opting to bat first. They were 89/5 in the 11th over but Douglas and Descarte shared 67 runs for the sixth wicket. Douglass made 56 from 32 balls whereas Descarte smacked 27-ball 55. Hooper made 7-ball 17 at the end to help the home side post big.

Kamal Singh Airee picked up four wickets for Nepal (4-0-44-4). Sompal Kami got three whereas Karan KC, Sagar Dhakal and Kushal Bhurtel pocketed one each.

The Nepalese team will now travel to Houston and play a couple of practice games against Houston Hurricane before playing the official warm-up matches of the T20 World Cup.
