Nepal to host West Indies A in a historic T20 series

The Nepalese national cricket team is prepared to engage in a five-match T20 series against West Indies A as part of their T20 World Cup preparations.

Commencing on April 27th, the historic series will conclude on May 5th, with all matches taking place at the TU Cricket Ground.

This marks the debut tour of any West Indies team to Nepal, following the recent visit of Ireland Wolves, which was the first tour by any Irish side to the country.

Windies cricket emphasizes the importance of the T20 World Cup preparation for players not involved in the Indian Premier League (IPL), as it aids in assessing the reserve pool. Meanwhile, It is a great opportunity for Nepal to play a series against test nation ahead their second participation in the T20 World Cup. To date, Nepal has participated in only one match against West Indies during the Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 in Zimbabwe.

This opportunity will greatly enhance our preparations for the T20 World Cup and beyond. Hosting this historic tour in Nepal, a burgeoning cricketing nation, will energize our passionate fans,” said Paras Khadka, secretary of Cricket Association of Nepal.
