Nepal U-19 bowl out Malaysia for a mere 72 runs

The Nepal youth team has bowled out Malaysia for a mere total in the fourth match of the U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier. The bowlers did a fantastic job of settling Malaysia for 72 runs in 35.3 after being forced to bowl first.

Akash Chand yielded a wicket in the second over, dismissing the opposition captain Sidharth Karthik Rajaratnam. Malaysia then were doing fine with a score of 46/2 in the 17th over. However, the Nepalese spinners’ jolt saw Malaysia collapse and lose the next eight wickets for just 26 runs.  Muhammad Akram was the top scorer for Malaysia with 26 runs. Mohammad Hairil Harisan and  Muhammad Syahir Syamael added 12 runs each, while no other batters could score a double-digit figure.

Dipesh Kandel was the pick of a bowler for Nepal, grabbing four wickets. He bowled four maidens and conceded just 11 from ten over spell. Akash Chand (4.3-0-9-3) picked up three wickets, while Milan Bohara bowled exceptionally well, picking up a couple of wickets. He conceded just eight runs from nine over spell, bowling five maidens.
