Nepal U19 thrash Malaysia to register second win

Kathmandu – Nepal U19 team thrashed the host Malaysia by 8 wickets to register their second win of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifier 2019 today at Bayuemas Oval.

After losing the second match against UAE U19 by a narrow margin of 1 run due to D/L Method, Nepal U19 team came harder against the host nation. Malaysian side were bowled out cheaply for 93 runs in 33.5 overs. Pawan Sarraf (8.5-1-13-3) and Kushal Malla (8-2-20-3) have three wickets apiece while Kamal Singh Airee grabbed two wickets. Iezzat Daniel Fiqry was the top scorer for Malaysia.

The chase was completed at the end of over 13. Thanks to an unbeaten knock of 39 runs by opener Rit Gautam. He smashed five boundaries. Pawan Sarraf was dismissed after a quick fire of 19 off 14 balls. Aasif Sheikh was in a hurry as his knock of 18 balls 26 runs helped Nepal to chase down the target without any hiccups. To conclude the match, Skipper Rohit Paudel smacked a six off the first ball.

Pawan Sarraf was adjudged Man of the match but his all-round effort. Nepal U19 will now take on Oman U19 on April 16 at Selangor Turf Club.
