Nepal U19 wins the opener against UAE by 9 wickets

Debutant Faizrul Khan with unbeaten 45 run helped Nepal to chase the target of 88 runs in the ACC U19 Elite Cup 2011 against UAE.

Nepal chose to field first after winning the toss. UAE lost the momentum from the start of the inning and kept on loosing wickets regularly at the AIT Ground in Thailand. They could only manage to score 87 runs in their 47.2 overs.

Only two batsmen, Dan Desuza 21 and SN Ramesh 14 added some score for the batting team. Nepal’s bowling was outstanding, Rahul B.K. took 3/18, while Krishna Karki/Avinash Karn/Bhuwan Karki took 2 wicket to their tally.

Meanwhile, During the chase Nepal started the quite comfortably against the UAE in the second innings. Few hiccups started when the Subash Khakurel 5 (opener) lost his wicket in second over of the match. But since then it was the Second Wicket partnership between Faizrul Khan and Sagar Pun that took the game away from UAE. Nepal won the match quite comfortably by 9 wickets on 15.3 overs.

Faizrul Khan remain unbeaten at 45* run while Sagar Pun 36* supported the partnership of 81.
