Nepal win the series against Ireland Wolves

Nepal has won the two-match T20 series against Ireland Wolves. The Nepalese side bagged a 71-run victory at TU Cricket Ground on Tuesday to win the series 2-0.

Chasing a big target of 199 runs, the Irish side were wrapped up for 127 in 18.3 overs. No batters could play big innings, resulting in a back-to-back defeat for the Wolves. Irish side, however, had a terrific start as the openers added a quick 43 runs.

None of the pair were able to build a partnership for the visiting side. OpenerStephen Doheny top-scored with 13-ball 26 whilst Morgan Topping made a sluggish 21 runs.

For Nepal, Kushal Malla and Sompal Kami picked up three wickets. Karan KC, Kushal Bhurtel and Bibek Yadav also grabbed one wicket each.

In the first innings, Nepal opted to bat first and piled up 198/7 at the end of the allotted 20 overs.

Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh yielded an attacking start. Aasif was dismissed for 11 in the third over and Nepal lost another two quick wickets. Kushal Bhurtel and Anil were dismissed as Nepal were 56/3 in the seventh over. Bhurtel made 16-ball 25 runs with two sixes and two fours.

Gulshan Jha and Rohit Paudel then shared 71 runs for the fourth wicket. Jha scored 32-ball 46 with the help of four sixes whereas Rohit scored 33 which included five boundaries. It was Kushal Malla show at TU Cricket Ground after that. He hammered 34 runs from just 13 balls, smacking one four and four sixes. Sundeep Jora also played an aggressive cameo of 10-ball 21. Nepal added 34 runs from the last three overs.

Matthew Foster picked up three wickets for the Wolves while Ben White grabbed two. Gavin Hoey and Fionn Hand also pocketed one wicket each.
