Nepal wins first practice match

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Nepal National team registered victory in the first practice match during their tour to Delhi. Nepal national team which on Saturday went to Delhi as a part of preparation for the upcoming ACC T20 Cup and ICC World Cricket League Division 3 today defeated D.I Khan Coaching Center by 42 runs.

Nepal winning the toss, elected to bat first in a match reduced to 40 overs per side and scored a total of 203 runs in 39.3 overs. Binod Bhandari played a magnificent innings of 69 runs from 56 balls with six fours and four sixes. Sharad Vesawkar added 42 off 58 while Subash Khakurel 34 and Anil Mandal 16 remained other major contributors. Aman Sirohi from D.I. remained the pick of the bowlers with 6 wickets. Nikunj Khandelwal grabbed two while Ankur Sangwan claimed one.

In reply, Nepalrestricted the home side to a total of 161 runs in 39.3 overs. Paras Khadka picked up three wickets, Basanta Regmi and Chandra Sawad claimed two each while Amrit Bhattarai and Shakti Gauchan took wicket apiece. During the chase for D.I., Aditya Saini top scored with 37 runs, Sunny Shankwar added 23 while Sagar Kalyan contributed 21 runs. Also, Tilak Thakur scored 10 runs.

Nepal will take on Vijay Dahiya Academy in a 50 overs match tomorrow.
